Midstates Tool & Die & Engineering Inc. uses a variety of up to date technologies in the machining and build process of Special & Custom Machines, Stamping Dies, Production Tooling and Custom Testing Equipment.

Milling:

Vertical CNC milling machines with cad/cam software are utilized for the machining of contours and profiles geometries necessary to produce various cavity dies, cam guides, and form tooling.

E.D.M.:

Submergible 5 axis wire cut EDM. machine is utilized in machining of close tolerance after heat treat details. This machine has a 11in. “Z” capacity along with a 15 degree U/V angle capability. “X” travel = 14in. “Y” travel 20in.

Grinding:

Our surface grinding machine with large capacity capabilities of 14in. x 14in. x 60in. is utilized in the close tolerance grinding of die sections, machine platens and other components in a job shop environment. This machine has a special magnetic chuck system that prevents suck down distortion allowing for a faster flat and parallel grind finish.

Turning:

A large capacity cnc lathe is utilized in the machine of various roll form die contours, trumpet and trombone mandrels and custom job shop turning. This machine has a 20in. diameter x 80in. between centers turning capacity. We also utilize the live tooling technologies on this machine giving the abilities to machine keyways, contoured shapes, cam paths, inside and outside pockets and flange bolt hole circle patterns with out removing the detail from the machine.

Boring / Milling:

Large capacity Devlieg Jig Mills are used to machine large Machine Platens, Weldments, Plates, Caterpillar Backhoe Arms, Large Hydro-Form die sets and various job shop type components. With 72in. x 96in. x 20in. Z travels these machines are capable of machining to a .0005 accuracy. The Devlieg machine bay is serviced by a 10 Ton Overhead Bridge Crane with 50 ft x 115 ft. travels and a 16 ft. hook height for timely machine loading and unloading ease.
